Basic Definition: Generally, the constitution refers to the basic principles of governance by which the governance of the state is governed. In other words, the constitution refers to those written and unwritten fundamental laws that affect the system and distribution of state power and determine the relationship between various institutions. Constitution is used in two senses. such as:

In a broad sense: Constitution in a broad sense refers to all the written and unwritten rules governing the governance of the country. In this case, written rules and regulations mean laws and unwritten rules mean customary customs, rituals, etc.

In a narrow sense: Constitution in the narrow sense refers to some written basic laws. On the basis of this matters like the formation of the government, organization of government departments, determination of powers, and interrelationships and relations of citizens of the state are regulated.

Documentary definition: There is a difference of opinion among political scientists regarding the definition of the Constitution. Below are the definitions of different thinkers in this field:

Aristotle explained the Constitution this, “Constitution is the complex system which the state has chosen for itself.

C. F. Strong said, “A constitution is the body of rules by which the affairs of state are governed.”

Professor K. C. According to Hoyer, “A constitution is a body of rules which govern the purposes for which and through which departments the powers of government shall be exercised.”

According to political scientist Gilchrist, “The body of laws, written or unwritten, governing the organization of government, the distribution of power among the various branches of government, and the exercise of that power.”The constitution is the general rule of thumb.”

Finally, it can be said that all the rules and regulations determine how the government will be organized, what the power of the government will be, how this power will be exercised, how the power will be distributed among the various departments of the government and what will be their mutual relationship or their collective form is called the constitution.
